Technology, skill and integrity are needed together: DG, Science Museum
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology, urged government officials to apply appropriate technology with efficiency and integrity in establishing good governance. He made this call while speaking as the chief guest at the seminar titled 'Establishment of good governance through the application of science and technology' held at the conference room of the museum's head office in Agargaon on Thursday (May 23, 2024 AD).
The seminar was attended by 72 Deputy Secretary level and equivalent officers of the Armed Forces who attended the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center's Advanced Training Course (ACAD) on a visit to the Science and Technology Museum.
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of the National Museum of Science and Technology said, "The application of satellite technology to stop the pollution of river-polluting industrial factories is the need of the hour, through which it is possible to monitor the proper operation of the ETP of the factory." Besides, by applying technology at the field level, corruption prevention and seamless service delivery should be ensured in the provision of government services in various sectors. Not only should technology be applied, proper use of technology should also be accompanied by strict integrity and values of government officials.”
Referring to the importance of inspection in establishing good governance, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, "The British gave great importance to inspection in the management of administration. Inspections ensure quality of work and prevent irregularities. Now-a-days e-monitoring has made it easy. The government is providing enough money and manpower; now there is a need for seamless and corruption-free services.”
Md. Sharif Hasan, director of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center, presented the main article in the seminar.
In addition, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Mohammad Salahuddin and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Md. Asaduzzaman participated in the discussion in the seminar.
